Ava Verdetta Williams Ablakatov was born in Linden, New Jersey on May 25, 1953, to the late Chris Levi Williams and Dorothy B. Williams. Ava was an only child. Ava was married to Alo Albakatov. In her early years, she attended the Linden Elementary school. She graduated from the Linden High School in 1971. Ava graduated from the Seton Hall University in South Orange, New Jersey and later graduated from Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey in May 2000. She obtained a Bachelor's degree in "Special Needs" as a teacher with Dual Certification and was one course away from receiving her Master's degree in "Administration".
Ava worked as an Airline Stewardess for 25 years for T.W.A. Airlines. She traveled around the world during the course of her employment. Ava also worked as a Charter Driver for the U.S.A. bus company for 5 years. In 2003, Ava became employed by the Camden City Public School System, where she spent 8 years until becoming ill. She will be truly missed by all.
During the course of her illness, Ava had a good demeanor. She had a few close friends: Bob Montgomery and Blenda Johnson. Ava's neighbor Donna and her husband was very vigilant in her life. They helped Ava throughout her illness. Her caretakers were: Charae Thompson-Perry, Deborah Cream, Vanessa Thompson, Dr. Deborah Stanley and Linda Robinson. Ava often spoke about her mother, Dorothy B. Williams and how she had a house built from the ground in Roselle, NJ. Her grandmother lived in the same neighborhood.
In addition to Ava’s parents she was predeceased by: brother, Anthony Jenkins.
Ava leaves to cherish her memories: step-brothers, Chris Williams and Tyreese Williams; Sister-in-Law, Mary Jenkins; Niece, Kayeena; a special first cousin, Verna Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
