Angeline Parker Etlen was born April 21, 1911, in Perry, Florida. She was the daughter of Melvin and Addie Parker and was the only girl of five siblings. The family moved to Camden, NJ from Perry, Florida when she was very young.
Her early education was in Camden, NJ. At fifteen she would have been a member of Hatch Jr. High School's first graduating class but her mother passed requiring her to relocate to Georgia. There she completed high school and started training as a licensed practical nurse. Angeline realized that nursing was her calling.
Later she met and married Charles Wesley Pulliam. From that union a daughter, Addie, was born. After a short six years of marriage, Charles Pulliam passed.
Angeline and Addie returned to Camden and settle in Branch Village in Centerville. She joined Ferry Ave. United Methodist Church and she attended this church faithfully until her health declined. She also met and married Charles Emmett Etlen in 1953 who unfortunately, passed in 1981.
Angeline had become a registered nurse and she retired from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after 30 years of service. Anyone who knew her, knew that she lived by two phrases:
"Honor thy father and mother and all your days will be long"
and
"Don't follow the crowd!"
She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Addie Mackey of Camden, NJ two grandchildren, Ruth Lee (Richard) and Minister Solomon Steeley (Deborah), five great grands and six great-great grands and a host of other relatives and friends.
To GOD Be The Glory!!
